FORT WORTH, Texas – Elon University football senior athletes Greg Liggs, Jr., Marcus Willoughby and Matt Foster each participated in the sixth-annual College Gridiron Showcase from January 3-8 in the Dallas area, putting their talents on display and gaining additional exposure to professional scouts.
 
The first all-star event of the college football postseason, the showcase and symposium provides exposure and education for top college seniors around the country and has a reputation as a source for "under the radar" football players around the nation. The CGS offers the chance to be evaluated by professional teams in a more exclusive setting than that other college all-star events provide.
 
Elon's three representatives were selected by a panel of football experts throughout the season. Over the course of the last week, Liggs, Willoughby and Foster visited the Dallas area for the five-day event, where they were evaluated by pro scouts representing the NFL, XFL and CFL. During the week, the attendees received professional football and life coaching, mentoring and seminars that will benefit them as they move forward in their professional lives, both on and off the field. The showcase used an OTA (Organized Team Activity) style format for football professionals and scouts, which put the three through a series of practices, drills and a controlled scrimmage at the end of the event on Thursday.

ABOUT COLLEGE GRIDIRON SHOWCASE
In the first five years of CGS, it had more than 470 players receive NFL opportunities. 2018 saw 30 alums earn chances on on NFL rosters with eight more drafted in the CFL draft (all in the first 41 selection). In 2019, CGS had more than 90 players earn NFL opportunities with five drafted in the CFL draft. Currently, CGS has more than 60 previous participants on NFL rosters with 30 more on CFL roster. A premiere events for scouting, CGS has had more than 120 NFL agents in attendance at events throughout the year with 150 more pro scouts.
