ELON, N.C. – Elon University women's lacrosse travels to Newark for its conference opener against Delaware on Saturday, March 7 at noon.

THE SERIES
-Elon leads the overall series, 4-1.
-Last season, the Phoenix defeated the Blue Hens, 9-8.

LAST TIME OUT
-Elon recorded an 11-10 win over Davidson on Saturday, Feb. 29.
-Sara Bouwman led the Elon offense, posting a career-high five goals. Mae McGlynn also recorded a hat trick with three goals on the day.
-Campbell Armstrong collected a career-high nine draw controls while Quinn Daly tallied a pair of caused turnovers and Carleigh Goldstein recorded a team best in ground balls (4).
 
SCOUTING DELAWARE
-Delaware (1-3) earned its first win of the season on March 4 when it defeated Duquesne, 17-8. Christine Long led Delaware with five goals for her 15th career hat trick with Malaina Dunn posting team-highs in ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (3). In goal, Kate Brewster totaled 11 saves.
-The Blue Hens were predicted to finish fourth in the Colonial Athletic Association Preseason Poll. Mia DeRuggiero was named to the CAA Women's Lacrosse Preseason Team.

UP NEXT
Following a 10-day break, the Phoenix heads to Durham for a matchup against Duke at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17.
