Men's Soccer Earns Team Academic Award

Elon, N.C. – Elon University men's soccer was named as a recipient of the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, the organization announced on Thursday, Sept. 24. This marks the 11th consecutive season the Phoenix has earned the award.

College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2019-20 academic year.

"Our team has again shown the priority we place on each player maximizing their academic ability and contributing to a high team GPA," head coach Marc Reeves stated. "I think it is fantastic the way Elon and our players have adapted and found ways to continue to get the most from the educational experience. We are truly thankful to the great Elon professors and our support staff, in particular Karen Neff who provide our student-athletes with an incredible educational environment and resources to succeed."

The Phoenix was one of just three CAA men's soccer teams to earn the distinction. Elon rounded out the academic year with a 3.56 overall GPA, including a spring semester in which every student-athlete maintained a GPA above a 3.0.
