The Phoenix had an early scare in the opening period as the Highlanders' Giovanni Vasquez fired a shot on goal that Phoenix keeper
Cam Pelle was able to corral for a save in the third minute. Elon got its first shot on goal in the 15
th minute by
Mason Duval, but he was turned away by Radford's netminder Alex Eydelman.
Elon broke the scoring stalemate in the 17
th minute on a penalty kick.
Petro Klishch was able to beat the keeper and had a look at an open goal, but a Radford defender deflected the ball off target with his arm, which led to an immediate red card for the Highlanders and a Phoenix penalty kick.
Calle Edelstam was able to convert for his third goal of the year and a 1-0 Elon lead.
In the 29
th minute, Elon doubled its lead thanks to
Jack Dolk's second goal of the season. The sophomore played a ball from passes from Duval and
Kasper Lehm to put Elon up 2-0.
The Phoenix went into the half with a 14-2 advantage on shots with seven of those coming on goal. Radford blanked Elon in corners after the first period, 2-0.
Elon tacked on one more score in the second half as
Ben Rosenblatt joined the scoring column for the first time this season in the 50

That would hold as the final score as Elon held Radford without a shot in the second half while attempting 14 of its own in the second period.
