HARRISONBURG, Va.— The Elon University women's soccer team suffered a 0-2 loss to James Madison on Oct. 28.
THE RUNDOWN
-The Dukes maintained the momentum through the first half, outscoring the Phoenix 2-0.
-Elon had two attempts on goal in the 42
nd and 43
rd minutes by
Kennedy Jones and
Abby Fusca, but both were saved by the James Madison goalkeeper.
-Despite the teams combining for five shots on goal in the second stanza, the score went unchanged as the Dukes took home the win.
-The Phoenix's best and final attempt to get on the board came in the 78
th minute when
Hannah Doherty fired a shot towards the top of the net, but it was saved by the goalkeeper.

-Doherty and
Makenzie DePriest-Kessler led the team in shots with two apiece, with Fusca,
Carson Jones and
Kennedy Jones following with one.
-The teams finished the match with five saves on the night.

McKenna Dalfonso (8-6-2) totaled four saves on 11 shots faced.
-The Phoenix now stands at 8-6-2 (3-3-2 CAA), while James Madison improves to 8-8-1 (5-3-0 CAA) and secures a spot in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship. With Northeastern losing to Drexel (2-1 OT), Elon's postseason hopes are still alive going into its final regular-season match.
