RICHMOND, Va. – Sophomore Jannik Videbaek of the Elon University men's soccer team was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association's Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday morning, Oct. 4.
 
Videbaek was key to helping the Phoenix go unbeaten last week with a pair of shutouts versus Campbell and Drexel. Against Campbell last Wednesday, the center back led a Phoenix defense to post a clean sheet against a Camels program that came into the match ranked fourth in the country in goals scored in Elon's 1-0 victory. The Silkeborg, Denmark, native also played all 110 minutes in Elon's scoreless draw at Drexel to help the Phoenix earn its seventh point in the CAA.
 
Elon returns to the pitch on Tuesday, Oct. 5, heading to intrastate foe No. 4 Duke. That game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
