ELON, N.C. – Elon University men's tennis student-athlete,
Kyle Frankel, rounded out competition at the ITA All-American Championships on Tuesday, Oct. 5.
The ITA Men's All-American Championships was held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa and Case Tennis Center at LaFortune Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Frankel opened the tournament on Monday when he took on Connor Di Marco of Tulsa. After dropping the opening set 3-6, Frankel bounced back with a 6-1 win in the second set. In the decisive third set, Frankel came up just short to Di Marco, losing 6-4.
On day two of the tournament, Frankel faced off against USC's Bradley Frye in another three-set battle. Frye took the first set 6-4, but Frankel stormed back to win set two 6-2. The third and final set was a battle, ending with a 7-6(3) tiebreaker win for Frye.
Despite the two losses over the weekend, Frankel has had a strong start to the fall, racking up a couple of singles victories and winning in his doubles flight at the Elon Fall Invitational last weekend.
Elon will continue its fall campaign on Oct. 16-17 when it travels to Greensboro, N.C. for the UNCG Invitational.
