Women's Soccer Places Three on All-CAA Postseason Teams

RICHMOND, Va.- The Colonial Athletic Association announced that Kayla Hodges, Carson Jones and Makenzie DePriest-Kessler were named all-conference selections for their performance during the 2021 season. Hodges was named first team, while Jones and DePriest-Kessler were tabbed second and third team honorees.

A key part of the Phoenix backline, Hodges started in all 17 games to total 1561 minutes played. Over the course of the season, she helped the maroon and gold record six shutouts, ranking second in the CAA. The two-time All-CAA selection also tied for second on the team in goals (3) on just five shots on target, with one of her goals coming against conference rival UNCW to tie the game in the 84th minute of the match.
Jones picked up second-team honors for the second season in a row after making 16 starts in 17 games played in 2021. She paced the Phoenix in both goals (6) and points (13), finishing eighth in the conference in both categories. Two of her goals came in Elon's 2-0 win against Furman, marking the first two-goal game for Jones since the 2019 season when the Phoenix defeated Towson 3-1. For her performance against the Paladins, she was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week. Jones also scored the golden goal in the Phoenix's 2-1 overtime upset against #23/25 Hofstra.
DePriest-Kessler rounds out the all-conference selections, garnering third team honors for the second time in her career. Making 16 starts in 17 appearances, the midfielder was fifth on the roster in minutes played (1295). She also logged her first collegiate goal in the Phoenix's 2-1 win over Charleston.
