RICHMOND, Va. - Elon University volleyball's
Jenn Krzeminski has been named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, Nov. 8.
A junior middle blocker from Furlong, Pa., Krzeminski led the maroon and gold at the net with 10 blocks (1.67/set) in a pair of straight-set wins over Hofstra this past Friday and Saturday at Schar Center. She finished the CAA series with 19.0 points (3.17/set), 11 kills (1.83/set) on a .588 hitting percentage, one assist, two service aces and two digs. She collected seven blocks (two solo) with six kills, one assist, two aces and one dig in Friday's 3-0 victory over the Pride. She then followed that outing with three blocks, five kills and one dig on Saturday. Krzeminski leads the league in total blocks (110) and ranks second in hitting percentage (.362) and blocks per set (1.21).
This marks the second career weekly honor for Krzeminski as she was selected the CAA Rookie of the Week on Sept. 16, 2019. This is also the fifth time this season an Elon player has earned a weekly honor.
Leah Daniel was named Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 20 and Sept. 27,
Haylie Clark was chosen as Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 4, and
Sydney Love picked up Rookie of the Week honors on Oct. 18.
Krzeminski and the Phoenix secured a first-round bye at the CAA Championship Tournament, to be hosted at Towson's SECU Arena on Nov. 18-20. The team is off this week and awaits the results from around the league to determine the tournament seeding.
