ELON, N.C. – The Elon University softball team travels to North Carolina A&T for a midweek contest on Wednesday, Feb. 24, for a matchup between Piedmont Triad rivals. That game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. opening pitch at the Aggie Softball Complex.

Series Breakdown
• The Phoenix and the Aggies are meeting for the 56
th time in the series and it will be the first of two home-and-home contests between the two programs this season.
• Elon holds a 45-10 record all-time over N.C. A&T and has won seven straight and 14 of the last 15 contests.
• Elon last faced the Aggies in 2019, taking a 9-1 victory in Greensboro, N.C.
Last Time Out
• Wednesday's game will be the first contest for the Phoenix since its Opening Day bout versus Rhode Island on Feb. 14.
• The Phoenix earned a 17-1 victory over the Rams in five innings. The 17 runs were the most runs that Elon has scored in an Opening Day game since a 15-0 win over Winthrop in 2016.
• Three Elon players –
Grace Kiser (2-of-4),
Rebecca Murray (2-of-4) and
Claudia Penny (2-of-2) ended the day with multi-hit efforts.

Kenna Quinn went the distance in the circle to earn the win for the Phoenix. The Boiling Springs, S.C., native allowed five hits and one run while striking out four. She also did not walk a batter.
Amazing Grace
• Freshman
Grace Kiser was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
• Kiser batted .500 (2-of-4) with a pair of home runs, six RBI while scoring four runs in her collegiate debut versus Rhode Island on Feb. 14.
• The Pilot Mountain, N.C., native became the first Elon rookie to have a multi-home run game since
Megan White did so against Drexel in 2019.
Scouting North Carolina A&T
• N.C. A&T is currently 0-4 on the year after falling to Georgia State and Presbyterian in a pair of doubleheaders last weekend.
• On the season, the Aggies are hitting .169 with three regulars hitting better than .300 in Joclyn Bennett (.400), Samantha Ramirez (.333) and Jai Deese (.300). Deese has a team-best three hits while Ramirez has driven in two RBI.
• In the circle, four players have tossed at least one inning this year for the Aggies. S'Nyiah Stinson leads N.C. A&T with 9.2 innings pitched while Bayleigh Kirby has struck out a team-best eight batters.
On Deck
The Phoenix travels to Clemson this upcoming weekend, Feb. 27-28, to face the Tigers for the first time for a three-game series.
