ELON, N.C. – The Elon University softball team continues its road swing with a visit to Clemson for a three-game set this weekend, Feb. 27-28. The series between the Phoenix and the Tigers are set to begin with a twin bill on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 1 p.m. followed by the series finale on Sunday, Feb. 28, starting at 12 p.m. at McWhorter Stadium.

• Elon and Clemson will be meeting for the first time on the softball diamond this weekend with the Tigers playing in their second existence.

Last Time Out
• Elon won at North Carolina A&T in its most recent contest on Wednesday, 8-5. It was the eighth straight win for the Phoenix over its longtime Triad rival.
• Freshman
Mekayla Frazier went 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run, a triple and three RBI. Elon overall had 12 hits in the contest.

Kenna Quinn earned the win in relief for the Phoenix, moving to 2-0 on the season. The Boiling Springs, S.C., native pitched 3.2 hitless frames and struck out two batters.

Amazing Grace
• Freshman
Grace Kiser was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
• Kiser batted .500 (2-of-4) with a pair of home runs, six RBI while scoring four runs in her collegiate debut versus Rhode Island on Feb. 14.
• The Pilot Mountain, N.C., native became the first Elon rookie to have a multi-home run game since
Megan White did so against Drexel in 2019.

Scouting Clemson
• The Tigers currently sit at 6-2 overall on the season with a 4-2 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Clemson recently came off a 4-2 weekend in which it defeated No. 14 Virginia Tech in the program's second ranked win, and a sweep over Georgia Tech in its first-ever true road series.
• Clemson is hitting .289 overall as a team with four players hitting .300 or better with more than 19 at bats. Marissa Guimbarda holds a .450 average and has been the main run producer for the Tigers with three homers and 10 RBI.
• In the circle, Valerie Cagle has appeared in eight games and has posted a 4-1 ledger with an ERA of 2.41 in 29.0 innings of action. She also has fanned 32 batters.
