• The two teams last played in 2018 with Elon sweeping the Eagles in a doubleheader with identical 5-4 scores in both contests.

Last Time Out
• Elon is coming off a 13-3 setback at the hands of longtime Triad rival UNCG on Wednesday, March 10. The Spartans hit six home runs in the contest including five in an eight-run seventh inning that blew the game open for UNCG.
• Elon's Grace Kiser provided the lone runs for the maroon and gold with a three-run home run in the sixth. The round tripper was Kiser's team-best third of the season.

Quick Hits
• Elon is batting .222 so far in 2021 with two regulars in the lineup (at least 17 at bats) hitting better than .300 in Rebecca Murray (.406) and Gabi Schaal (.300). Murray extended her current hit streak to six games with a single in the first against the Spartans.
• The Phoenix currently leads the Colonial Athletic Association in home runs with six with half of those coming off the bat of Kiser. Kiser's three home runs is also tops in the CAA.
Kenna Quinn has all three wins for the Phoenix in the circle this season. The Boiling Springs, S.C., native leads the pitching squad in innings pitched (26.0), ERA (3.23) and strikeouts (10). She also posted her first shutout of the season versus UConn on March 7.
• Elon returns all but one player from its 2020 shortened season, where the Phoenix finished the year at 11. The maroon and gold also added five talented newcomers to the mix for 2021 in first-year players Mekayla Frazier, Grace Kiser, Blair Rhodes and Gabi Schaal along with Wichita State transfer McKenzie Weber.
Kathy Bocock is in her 10th season as the head coach of the Elon softball program. She currently has 229 wins with the Phoenix and 466 victories overall in her coaching career.

Scouting North Carolina Central
• The Eagles are searching for their first win of the season as they come into the series with a record of 0-12. N.C. Central last faced Appalachian State in a doubleheader on Sunday, falling to the Mountaineers 8-0 and 17-0 in the twin bill.
• Seniors Joirea Dumas and Nadia Blevins are the only two Eagles to have started every game this season. Dumas leads NCCU with a .259 batting average and .375 on-base percentage with five walks.
