ELON, N.C. – The Elon University softball team is set for a four-game series this weekend, March 20-21, versus longtime Piedmont Triad rival UNCG. The Phoenix and the Spartans begin the four-game set on Saturday with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. at the UNCG Softball Stadium before closing out the weekend with a twin bill at Hunt Softball Park on Sunday also starting at 1 p.m.

Series Breakdown
• UNCG is Elon's most-faced opponent in the Phoenix's fastpitch era (since 1990). Both teams have met on the softball diamond 87 times going into this weekend's series. The Spartans hold a 47-39-1 record all-time over the maroon and gold.
• The two teams last met earlier this year on March 10 at Elon. The Spartans took a 13-3 victory over the Phoenix which included six home runs from UNCG – five in the top of the seventh.
Last Time Out
• Elon played a tough battle versus No. 14 Duke on Wednesday, March 17. The Phoenix fell to the Blue Devils, 3-0, holding Duke to tie its lowest run total of the season.

Gabi Schaal and
Ally Repko were the only members of the Phoenix to register a hit in the game. Schaal had her second double of the season in the sixth while Repko had a single in the seventh.

Kenna Quinn pitched her fifth complete game of the season, giving up five hits and three runs. She also struck out four batters.
