CHARLESTON, S.C. – Elon University volleyball took the opening set 25-23, but host College of Charleston won the next three as the Phoenix fell in four sets on Sunday afternoon, March 28 at TD Arena.
"We played a much better match today than yesterday," head coach
Mary Tendler said. "Both teams competed hard and made some great plays. This group of players will always be special to me. I am amazed at the sacrifices they have made during a pandemic to keep themselves in the gym, practicing and playing, and in the classroom. All that they have accomplished this year shows the dedication they have for their teammates, their sport and Elon University."

THE RUNDOWN

The Phoenix built an early 6-4 advantage in the third set, but a 9-2 swing gave the home team an 18-13 lead. A Krzeminski kill and a
Natalie Cummins solo blocked helped Elon get back to within a point at 21-20, but CofC took four of the next five points for the 2-1 match lead. In the fourth set, Elon couldn't stop the Charleston offense as a 25-8 tally brought the match to a close.
