ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's tennis team suffered its first home loss of the season on Sunday, April 11 when it fell to East Tennessee State, 5-2.
 
NOTES
-Camilo Ponce and Nicholas Campbell clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory over Thiago Pernas and Juan Sebastian Zabala in the No. 2 position.
-In No. 1 doubles, Chung-Han Tsai and Akram El Sallaly defeated Juan Lugo and Frazier Rengifo, 6-2. The duo is now 9-2 on the season.
-In No. 5 singles, Jacob Bicknell posted a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Juan Sebastian Zabala.
-With the loss, Elon falls to 11-5 on the season and 9-1 at home. East Tennessee State is now 10-6, with 10 wins in their last 11 matches.
 
UP NEXT
The Phoenix returns to Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on Thursday, April 15 to host UNCG at 6:00 p.m. Bicknell will be honored prior to the start of the match as part of his senior recognition.
