Dalfonso/Totten Earn CAA Women’s Soccer Weekly Honors

RICHMOND, Va.-- The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced on Sept. 13 that sophomore McKenna Dalfonso and freshman Lydia Totten earned weekly women's soccer conference awards for their performances against Gardner-Webb and American. Dalfonso was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week, while Totten was tabbed the Rookie of the Week.

Dalfonso posted shutouts and perfect save percentages against both the Runnin' Bulldogs (2-0) and the Eagles (1-0). The sophomore totaled seven saves on the week, with five of them coming against the Eagles to match her season high. The shutout at American marks the 10th in her career and fourth this season to place her in the top 10 all-time in program history.

Totten scored her second goal of the season off a penalty kick in Elon's 2-0 win over Gardner-Webb. Over the course of the match, the forward totaled four shots, with two of them being on goal for a .500 shot on goal percentage. Through seven games, she's tied for the team high in both goals and points (4) in addition to tying for fourth in shots (10) and shots on goal (4).

Elon will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 17 when it hosts Furman in its final nonconference match of the season at 7 p.m.
