RICHMOND, Va.-- The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced on Sept. 20 that Carson Jones has been named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week.

Jones scored both of Elon's goals in the Phoenix's 2-0 shutout against reigning Southern Conference (SoCon) champion Furman last week, setting new single-game team highs in both goals and points (4). Her scoring output matched her career high, which was set in the 2019 season when Elon topped Towson 3-1. The goals were also her first two of the season. 

The victory is just the fifth all-time against the Paladins (5-12-1). The last win against Furman came on Oct. 13, 2013, when the maroon and gold was a member of the SoCon (4-3).

Elon will kick off conference play on Sunday, Sept. 26 when it visits UNCW for a 1 p.m. match.
