DURHAM, N.C. - Elon University men's tennis fell to Duke, 7-0, on Sunday, Jan. 23, at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center in Durham, N.C.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The combination of Nicholas Campbell and Nicholas Condos highlighted the match for the Phoenix, as the duo defeated Connor Krug and Jake Krug of Duke 7(7)-6(4) in doubles play. Their win marked the lone victory for the Phoenix in doubles.
- The tandems of Kyle Frankel and Camilo Ponce, and Daniel Martin and Chung-Han Tsai eached forced a tiebreaker in their respectively doubles matches. Frankel and Ponce fell to Faris Khan and Niroop Vallabhaneni (7(7)-6(4)), while Martin and Tsai dropped a 7(7)-6(3) decision to Garrett Johns and Andrew Zhang.
- Kyle Frankel pushed No. 76 ranked Johns into a second-set tiebreaker after losing the first set 6-4. Frankel nearly won the decisive second set but was outlasted by Johns 7(9)-6(7).
- Nicholas Campbell also forced a second-set tiebreaker in the No. 2 position for the Phoenix. Despite a late push, Campbell fell to Zhang 6-3, 7(7)-6(1).
- Nicholas Condos was defeated by No. 38 ranked Faris Khan (7-5, 6-2), while Daniel Martin fell to Connor Krug in a 7-5, 7-5 decision in No. 4 singles.

UP NEXT
Elon will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 4, when it hosts Liberty in its home opener. That contest is slated for 2 p.m. at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
