HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Elon University women's basketball earned its first road conference win of the season on Jan. 23 as it posted a 62-58 win over Hofstra.
"I am thrilled with our team's resiliency," said head coach
Charlotte Smith. "The bounce back from the Northeastern loss is to be commended. We got two brilliant performances from both of our seniors, Brie (Perpignan) and Kayla (Liles), which propelled us to this road victory. They did what seniors are supposed to do…lead the way. I am proud of them."
THE RUNDOWN
-It was a relatively tight game at the start as neither team led by more than three points. With 22 seconds on the clock and Hofstra leading 8-11, Perpignan picked up her second field goal of the day to bring Elon to within one point of the Pride to end the period (10-11).
