SETTING THE SCENE

Riding a five-game winning streak, No. 14/18 Elon makes the first of two consecutive road trips to the Northeast, playing at No. 25/22 Rhode Island Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for Rhode Island's Homecoming/Family Weekend game. Meade Stadium is sold out for the affair, which is Elon's third game against a ranked opponent this year.
Elon is ranked in the top 25 polls for the third consecutive week at 5-1 overall and 3-0 in CAA Football play. Rhode Island enters the contest at 3-2 overall and 1-1 in CAA Football action.
For those not in attendance Saturday, the game can be streamed via FloSports.
The audio broadcast begins with the pregame show at 12:30 p.m. with Taylor Durham and Gray Aust. The audio broadcast is available for free via The Varsity Network app on your mobile device.
Elon holds a 4-1 edge in the all-time series, including a 35-34 win in 2017 in Elon's only other trek to Kingston, R.I. A year ago, the Phoenix closed the season with a 43-28 win over then-No. 25 Rhode Island.
Elon is 2-1 on the road this year and has won three out of four away from Elon. Rhode Island is 1-1 at home in 2022 and went 4-1 at Meade Stadium a year ago.
