Skyler Davis has been named one of ten finalists for the Fred Mitchell Outstanding Place Kicker Award, honoring kickers for their excellence on the football field and for continued community service throughout the year.
Finalists for the award include three kickers from the FCS, four from NCAA Division II, and one each from NCAA Division III, NAIA and NJCAA. Finalists include Mason Campbell (Bentley),
Skyler Davis (Elon), Ethan Gettman (Bryant), Nathan Hamilton (Grand View), Nick Herber (Delta State), Harrison Pustilnik (Howard Payne), Kyle Sentkowski (Sacramento State), Cameron Shirky (Notre Dame of Ohio), William Testa (New Mexico Military Institute) and Estin Thiele (Valdosta State).
Davis went 18-of-22 on field goals during the 2022 season, including 7-of-8 from at least 50 yards. He is the only college kicker in the country at any level to make more than four kicks of at least 50 yards this season. He was also 31-of-32 on extra points and had 46 touchbacks on 63 kickoffs during the season.
The recipient of the Fred Mitchell Award will be announced Thursday.
