ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's tennis team and head coach
Michael Leonard released the program's 2023 schedule on Thursday, Dec. 8.
The Phoenix is slated to play 23 total matches during its 2023 regular season, including 12 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. Elon is also scheduled to play three road matches against teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference in the first two months of the season.

"We are excited about our upcoming spring schedule," Leonard said. "Early on in the season, we play three strong, nationally ranked ACC teams as well as travel to Houston to play Rice and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. This should get us ready for our conference matches later in the spring and the conference tournament at William & Mary."
THE SCHEDULE
Elon begins its season with three road matches, including its season opener on Jan. 16 against Wake Forest, who advanced to the Super Regionals of last season's NCAA Men's Tennis Championship. The Phoenix then travels to Houston for a pair of matches against Rice and Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Jan. 27 and 28.
The Phoenix hosts North Carolina Central in its home opener on Feb. 4 before hitting the road for two matches against in-state teams – Campbell on Feb. 7 and North Carolina, its second ACC opponent of the season, on Feb. 12.
After playing five of its first six matches away from home, the maroon and gold returns to the JPTC for three straight home matches, including a doubleheader on Feb. 18 against Lees-McRae and Georgia State. Elon then travels for matches against Gardner-Webb on Feb. 23 and North Carolina State on Feb. 25, the final time on the season the team will play consecutive road contests.
Elon hosts Hampton and Wofford on March 4 and 5 before traveling to take on College of Charleston on March 13. A bout against Dartmouth on March 21 kicks off a stretch of four home matches in five for the Phoenix, which also includes encounters with Presbyterian, Delaware and William & Mary.
Following a road match against Charlotte on April 7, the Phoenix hosts UNCG for the only scheduled night match at the JPTC, as play is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Elon plays its final road match of the year season against Radford on April 14 before closing out its regular season at home against North Carolina A&T on April 21.
The 2023 CAA Men's Tennis Championship is scheduled for April 27-30 and will be hosted by William & Mary at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center. All 10 CAA teams will compete in the tournament.
