ELON, N.C. - Elon University women's tennis won its third consecutive match on Sunday, Feb. 13, defeating Gardner-Webb, 4-0, at the Piedmont Indoor Courts in Greensboro, N.C.

"The team came out with awesome energy today beginning with doubles," head coach Elizabeth Anderson began. "In singles Olivia and Ali got the momentum going, setting Julie up to clinch. It was also wonderful that we were able to use all 8 courts at Piedmont and that everyone was able to compete today."

HIGHLIGHTS
- Olivia Archer led the way for the Phoenix, shutting out Elise Semmartin in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. It was the second singles victory of the year for Archer and moved her to .500 (2-2) in the No. 5 slot.
- Julie Ball got continued her strong start to the season, making quick work of Maria Jardim 6-0, 6-2. The win marked her third straight and moved her to 3-2 in the No. 4 spot.
- Alison O'Dea rounded out the singles wins for the Phoenix, defeating Courtney Fyvie, 6-1, 6-2 in straight sets. With the win, O'Dea now has a 2-2 tally overall this season and a 2-1 mark in No. 6 singles.
- Lizette Reding and Victoria Saldh each held a lead following the first set on their respective courts. Reding took set one over Elin Hellberg 6-2 and led in the second set 3-0, while Saldh picked up set one over Manon Delsol 6-4.
- Shauna Galvin and Sarah Allen also put forth strong performances for the Phoenix in singles, with Galvin leading Emilia Roslind 7-5, 3-0 and Allen leading Katie Watts 6-3, 3-3.
- Archer and O'Dea clinched the doubles point for Elon, beating Katie Watts and Emilia Roslund 6-3. It was the duos first win of the season.
- The combination of Sibel Tanik and Lizette Reding got the ball rolling for the Phoenix in doubles play, as the tandem took down Manon Delsol and Elin Hellberg 6-2 to secure their second victory in this weekend.
- Galvin and Allen also picked up a doubles win, taking down Semmartin and Fyvie 6-0.

Elon returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 19, when it hosts Georgia State Universirty in a 11:00 a.m. matchup at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
