Elon Falls To Georgia State On Saturday Afternoon

ELON, N.C. - Elon University women's tennis fell to Georgia State, 4-2, on Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Julie Ball led the way for the Phoenix, making quick work of Alexia Alvarez in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. It was the fourth consecutive singles win for ball and moved her to 4-2 in the No. 4 position.
- Sibel Tanik started strong on Court 1, defeating Eva Chivu 7-5 in the first set while staying active in the second set despite a Chivu leading 3-4 before the match went unfinished.
- Victoria Saldh and Julie Ball clinched the doubles point for Elon, taking down Ellie Aldrich and Andreea Stanescu 6-3 in the No. 2 position.
- The combination of Olivia Archer got the ball rolling for the Phoenix in doubles play, as the tandem defeated Alexia Alvarez and Pragnya Kumar 6-2 to secure their second victory as a duo this season.

Elon returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 20, when it hosts Presbyterian in a 1:00 p.m. matchup at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
