ELON, N.C. – Redshirt senior McKenzie Weber of the Elon University softball team was named the Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning, Feb. 22.
 
Weber improved to 2-0 overall on the season after tossing a complete-game shutout versus Morgan State on Sunday, Feb. 20. The Overland Park, Kan., native scattered five hits against the Bears in her seven innings while posting a pair of strikeouts. Weber also tossed a scoreless relief appearance versus Providence on Friday, Feb. 18.
 
The Phoenix is back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 23, traveling to Duke for its first road game of the year against the 14^th-ranked Blue Devils. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
