ELON, N.C.-- Elon women's basketball will compete in 2022 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Basketball Championship presented by Primis as the No. 4 seed, facing fifth-seeded College of Charleston in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 11 at 2:30 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
-The Phoenix is on a 15-game win streak against Charleston, holding a 23-14 overall record against the Cougars.
-Elon delivered a 71-66 overtime win on the road in its last matchup against Charleston on Sunday, Feb. 13.
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
-Elon (17-11, 9-9 CAA) finished out its regular season with a 49-45 win over William & Mary on March 5.

Evonna McGill paced the Elon offense with 13 points, shooting 6-of-9 from the field, while
Brie Perpignan and
Ariana Nance followed with 12 apiece. Nance's points were the highest she has recorded since she posted 15 against Gardner-Webb over two months ago on Dec. 20.
-Perpignan led the team in assists (5), while
Kayla Liles and Nance each chipped in two.
-Liles registered a team-high nine rebounds on the day in addition to five points and two assists. She also tied McGill for the team best in steals (2).
-The Phoenix has now won back-to-back matchups against the Tribe, marking the first time Elon has done so since the 2017-18 season.
-For her performance during the regular season, Perpignan earned second team all-conference status.
-The maroon and gold is led by 11
th-year head coach
Charlotte Smith, the winningest coach in program history.
SCOUTING CHARLESTON
-Charleston (17-12, 9-9 CAA) enters the championship on a three-game winning streak, posting wins against UNCW (87-56), Hofstra (75-35) and Northeastern in its regular-season finale (73-64).
-Against the Huskies, Tyler Collins and Latrice Perkins led Charleston in scoring with 22 and 20 points, respectively.
-Arynn Eady also recorded her 13th double-double of the season, totaling 10 points and 11 rebounds.
-Three Charleston players earned all-conference honors: Jenna Annecchiarico (second team), Eady (third team & all-defensive team) and Grace Abercrombie (all-rookie team). Eady was also named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year.
-The head coach of Charleston is Robin Harmony.
UP NEXT
With a win against Charleston, Elon will advance to the semifinal round and face the winner of the top-seeded Drexel and #8 Hofstra / #9 UNCW matchup. Tipoff for that contest is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 12.
