ELON, N.C. - Elon University men's tennis won its fifth consecutive match on Saturday, March 5, defeating No. 66 nationally ranked Furman, 5-2, at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.
 
"Really proud of the guys for a great team win today," head coach Michael Leonard opened. "We needed everyone, and the guys stepped up and fought through adversity to get a win against a very strong Furman team."

HIGHLIGHTS
- Ben Zipay led the way for Elon in singles play, taking down Drew Singerman in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. The win marked the second straight for Zipay and moved him to 2-2 overall this season.
- Daniel Martin extended his winning streak to four, defeating Elijah Poritzky 7-6, 6-4 in the No. 3 position. Martin now sits at a team-best 5-2 in singles play and holds a perfect 4-0 mark in the No. 3 spot.
- Kyle Frankel clinched the match for the Phoenix at the No. 1 slot, pulling out a gutsy three set victory against Ivan Mitric 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. Frankel has now won each of his last four matches.
- Nicholas Campbell rounded out the singles victories for the Phoenix, outlasting Jamie Connel 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a three-set battle on Saturday. The performance marked the third win of the year for Campbell and was his second in a row.
- The tandem of Campbell and Nicholas Condos clinched the doubles point for Elon, finishing Cole Burnam and Elijah Poritzky 6-3. The pair improved their record to a team-best 5-1 with the win and maintained its undefeated mark (5-0) in the No. 3 position.
- The combination of Frankel and Zipay got the ball rolling in doubles play, beating James Roelofse and Emil Westling 6-4. It was the first win of the year for the duo as they now sit at 1-0 in the No. 2 position.
