ELON, N.C. -Â Elon University women's tennis extended its winning streak to four on Friday, April 1, defeating Bluefield State, 7-0 and 5-0 respectively, in a doubleheader at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

Julie Ball got the ball rolling in singles play for Elon in both matches, making quick work Juliana Jimenez 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 3 slot and Paula Saez 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 position. The performance extended Ball's winning streak to six and moved her to 12-4 overall, 2-0 in No. 3 singles and 10-4 in No. 4 singles.

Sibel Tanik won both of her matches this afternoon, finishing Shreya Chakrabarly 6-0, 6-4 before clinching the second match of the doubleheader with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Virginia Zanotti in No. 1 singles. Tanik is now on a four-match winning streak and sits at 9-5 overall in singles play.

Shauna Galvin clinched the first match for the Phoenix, defeating Ghita Courdi 6-1, 6-1 in No. 5 singles before sweeping Victoria Cabral 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 6 slot in match two. It marked Galvin's seventh win of the year and helped her maintain her undefeated singles record this season.

Olivia Archer continued her strong play this season, taking down Paula Saez 6-0, 6-1 in No. 4 singles to open the day prior to beating Ghita Courdi 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5 position. Archer now holds a team-high 13 singles wins this season and is 4-0 in the No. 4 spot.

Lizette Reding gave Elon a 2-0 lead in the second match, sweeping Shreya Chakrabarly 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets at No. 2. With the win Reding now has nine overall this season and sits at 6-3 in the No. 2 slot.

Sarah Allen picked up her second career win on Friday, making quick work of Victoria Cabral 6-0, 6-1 in No. 6 singles.

Victoria Saldh earned her sixth win on the season, outlasting Virginia Zanotti 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 2 spot.

Saldh clinched the doubles point for Elon to open the day, defeating Saez and Zanotti 6-0 in the No. 2 position. With the win the combo now sits at 9-6 overall and moved to 8-6 in No. 2 doubles.
- The tandem of Tanik and Reding got the ball rolling in doubles play, sweeping Chakrabarly and Jimenez 6-0 in the No. 1 spot. With the win the duo picked up its tenth win this year to tie for the team-lead and earned its fourth win in five outings.
- Archer and Allen rounded out the doubles victories for the Phoenix, taking down Courdi and Cabral 6-2 in No. 3 doubles. It marked the first win of the year for the combo.

Elon returns to action on Saturday, April 9, when it travels to Harrisonburg, Va. for an 11 a.m. matchup against James Madison.
