ELON, N.C. - Elon University men's tennis fell to VCU, 7-0, on Friday, April 8, at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The combination on Campbell and Nicholas Condos led the way for the Phoenix in doubles play, taking down Bobichon and Joaquim Almeida 6-3 in the No. 3 slot. The win marked the seventh of the year for the duo and was its second in a row.
- Nicholas Campbell dropped a close three-set battle against Maxence Bertimon in No. 2 singles. Campbell started off strong, winning the first set 6-2 before falling 6-1 in the second set. In the decisive third set, Bertimon outlasted Campbell 7-6 to secure the win.
- Camilo Ponce stormed out of the gates, winning the opening set 6-3 to start the day. From there, Matisse Bobichon battled to a 7-6 decision in the second set to force a tiebreaking third set. In the tiebreaker, Ponce fell in a close 10-8 tally to give Bobichon the win in the No. 4 slot.
- Kyle Frankel battled in No. 1 singles, taking the first set 6-4 before falling by a close 7-5 margin in the second set against Charles Bertimon. Frankel nearly won the tiebreaker but Bertimon fought back to earn a 12-10 final in the decisive third set.
