ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's soccer team currently have 14 members of its 2022 fall squad competing with various development teams this summer.
"We are grateful to the summer teams and coaches that have given our players the opportunity to continue to compete through the summer months," said Elon head men's soccer coach
Marc Reeves. "The various organizations and leagues all across the country allow our guys to keep working on personal improvement areas and get quality game minutes. Several of our players are key parts of successful teams and being involved in meaningful games can provide valuable experiences. The summer is a vital preparation piece to be ready for the fall season and we are excited to get back going again in August."
Below is a breakdown of where everyone is playing this summer and their respective development teams to follow.
Apotheos FC
Redshirt freshman goalkeeper
Patrick Shealy is on the roster for the Apotheos FC squad this summer based out of Kennesaw, Ga.
Asheville City
Newcomer Ryan Bilichuk is a member of Asheville City SC. The netminder has allowed a GAA of 0.83 with 23 saves and a .821 save percentage in six matches to help Asheville SC to a 6-0-1 ledger.
DC United VDA U-23s
Junior
Charlie Kurz and sophomore
Seth Hammond are teammates for the DC United VDA U-23s.
Flint City Bucks
Two members of the Phoenix backline, senior
Kasper Lehm and junior
Jannik Videbaek, are on the roster for the Flint City Bucks. Videbaek has appeared in three matches so far, manning 194 total minutes while Lehm has played 17 total minutes so far this summer.
NC Fusion U-23s
Two more members of the maroon and gold are competing this summer for the NC Fusion U-23 squad. Rising senior
Mason Duval has played in six matches so far, scoring four total goals this summer session. Newcomer Franc Gamiz Quer has appeared in four games with a goal scored in his 334 minutes of action as NC Fusion is unbeaten in seven matches so far at 6-0-1.
NCFC
Myson Darden is on the roster for the North Carolina FC U-23 team this summer. Darden, who will make his debut for the Phoenix later this fall, has appeared in four matches and has tallied 315 total minutes.
Oakland County SC
Ben Rosenblatt, a junior defender for the Phoenix, is on the Oakland County SC roster this summer. Rosenblatt has played every minute of the five matches he has appeared in so far this summer.
Kingston Stockade FC
Rising sophomores
Petro Klishch and
Ryan Manna have each found their way onto the roster of Kingston Stockade FC, which is based in Kingston, N.Y., and is a member of the NPSL.
Texas United
Redshirt freshman keeper
Jackson Leavitt is back in his home state competing with the Texas United.
Wake FC
Rising junior striker
Sam Durand rounds out the Phoenix in competition this summer with Wake FC.
