SETTING THE SCENE

Elon will play in front of its home fans for the first time this season as the Phoenix hosts Gardner-Webb Saturday for a 6 p.m. night game inside Rhodes Stadium. It will be Elon's first home night game since defeating then-No. 21 Furman 45-7 on Sept. 8, 2018.
For those not in attendance, the game can be streamed via FloSports or watched locally on My48. Taylor Durham and Mark Covert will have the call, with Rebecca Fiorentino serving as the sideline reporter.
The audio broadcast begins with the pregame show at 5:30 p.m. with Chase Williams and Gray Aust. The audio broadcast is available for free via The Varsity Network app on your mobile device.
Elon holds a 21-11 advantage in the all-time series, but Gardner-Webb won the last meeting 42-20, a rare February showdown during the COVID-19 2021 spring season.
Elon has played nine home night games (6 p.m. starts or later) in the past 10 seasons, going 5-4 in such contests.
Gardner-Webb is 0-1 on the road this year and went 1-5 away from Boiling Springs in 2021. In fact, the Runnin' Bulldogs are just 3-23 on the road since 2017.
