Phoenix Hosts Triad Rival North Carolina A&T This Weekend

ELON, N.C. – The Elon University volleyball team hosts fellow Triad rival North Carolina A&T on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 14-15. Both matches at Schar Center are scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

Elon lost a pair of matches against William & Mary last weekend. The Phoenix fell in four sets on Saturday and in three on Sunday.
Sydney Love tallied 22 kills in the two matches last weekend to lead the team.
Lindsey Harris tied her career-high of 10 kills in Saturday's match.
Jessica Parker combined for 41 assists against the Tribe and added another 20-assist performance on Saturday with 22.
Senior Jordan Gower added a team-best 35 digs on the weekend averaging 5.00 digs per set.

PHOENIX FACTS

Elon is now 0-8 in CAA play and 3-14 overall.
After recording five blocks last weekend, Cameron Lanier is up to 44.0 on the season to lead the maroon and gold. Lanier also leads the team in kills with 150.
Sydney Love is second on the team in kills with 121 after posting 22 in Elon's two matches last weekend. Love also leads the team in kills per set with 2.75.
Jessica Parker has recorded double-digit assists in every match this season, including nine 20-assist performances. Parker's 6.13 assists per set rank No. 8 in the CAA, and the freshman is also leading the team in aces with 22.
Jordan Gower leads the Phoenix with 4.22 digs per est. She has six 20-dig performances this season and ranks No. 3 in total digs (293).
As a team Elon ranks fifth in the CAA in digs per set (14.18) and sixth blocks per set (1.97).

THE MATCHUP

Elon leads the all-time series against North Carolina A&T 33-9.
The Phoenix has won the last 14 meetings between the teams, including the most recent matchup on Sept. 18, 2022, at Moore Gymnasium.
The maroon and gold has won the last 10 home matchups against the Aggies.
This will be the second time the teams have faced each other as CAA conference opponents.

SCOUTING NC A&T

North Carolina A&T enters the weekend with a 5-11 overall record and 3-5 mark in CAA matches. They hold a 0-6 record on the road this season.
The Aggies split last weekend's series against Hofstra at home, winning a five-set thriller on Sunday against the Pride.
Junior Naiya Sawtelle leads the league and team in kills this season with 242 and an average of 3.97 per set.
Kaili Doctor and Hannah Howell also have over 100 kills for the Aggies.
Chiara Napoli is the Aggies' lead setter this season and leads the team in assists (489) and aces (28).
With 61 blocks, Maya Johnson ranks No. 7 in the CAA. Madison Sanabria is second with 41, followed by Napoli with 39.
Morgan Allen's 197 digs ranks ninth in the CAA this season.
As a team, the Aggies rank No. 4 in the CAA in hitting percentage (.227) and No. 5 in average blocks per set (2.00).
The Aggies are led by head coach Hal Clifton, who has been with the program since 2011.

Elon returns to the road next Saturday and Sunday with a weekend series against College of Charleston. Both contests are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
