The Aggies pulled ahead 24-21 but the Phoenix saved two set points thanks to kills from Clara LaRue and Cameron Lanier before North Carolina A&T closed out the opening set, 25-23.
- It was a back-and-forth battle to start the second. Tied at 7-7, the Aggies won 13 of the next 16 points to take a commanding 20-10 lead. The Phoenix would only score one more point as North Carolina A&T sealed the second set 25-11.
- The Phoenix gained a quick 8-2 lead to start the third set. However, the Aggies went on a 6-0 run to tie the set at 8-8. From there, it was a fight until the end where no team led by more than two points until North Carolina A&T pulled away 21-18 late in the frame. The Phoenix won six of the next nine points to tie the match with a huge block from Caroline Berlekamp and Lanier to tie the set at 24-24. The Aggies won the next two points and took the set and match 26-24.
NOTES
FROM COACH TENDLER
"NC A&T played a really good match today. I love how we battled in the first set and how we bounced back after our struggles in set two. Proud of the players for battling all the way to the last point of the match."
