Richmond, Va. – Elon University freshman kicker Jack Berkowitz has been named the CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week. Berkowitz made four field goals in Elon's 33-27 win at No. 5 Delaware Saturday.
 
Berkowitz's first field goal of the game put Elon ahead 3-0 early in the first quarter and he added a second one just before halftime for a 20-13 Phoenix lead. With Elon clinging to a 27-20 fourth quarter lead, Berkowitz made a 37-yarder to put the Phoenix ahead by 10. He then added a career-long 44-yard boot to make it 33-20. Berkowitz also made all three of his extra point attempts.
 
With the win, Elon improved to 5-4 overall and 5-1 in CAA Football play. The Phoenix now have two wins over teams that were ranked in the FCS top five at the time of the game. Sitting in a five-way tie for first place in the CAA standings, Elon will play at Richmond Saturday at 2 p.m. The Phoenix then close the regular season at home Nov. 18 against Hampton at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
