ELON, N.C. – The Elon University softball team revealed its schedule for the 2024 season as announced by Phoenix head coach Kathy Bocock on Monday, Dec. 11. The maroon and gold is slated to play 51 games during the regular season including 25 games on the home diamond at Hunt Softball Park.
 
"Extremely delighted to release our 2024 schedule," said Bocock. "We have several quality opponents on our schedule which is very exciting to our players and our fans. Our non-conference slate will help us get prepared for another great and competitive year in the CAA, so we are just excited to be back on the field this February."

THE SCHEDULE
Elon opens the 2024 campaign with a home tournament on Feb. 8-11. The Phoenix begins the season with a twin bill versus Kent State on Thursday, Feb. 8. Following that matchup, the maroon and gold welcomes Miami (Ohio) to Hunt Softball Park the next day on Feb. 9 with the Redhawks being the first of seven 2023 NCAA Tournament teams that the Phoenix will face on its schedule. Elon closes out the tournament versus Evansville (Feb. 10) and Appalachian State (Feb. 11).
 
The Phoenix will be on the road for the rest of February, first traveling down I-40 to the NC State Tournament on Feb. 16-18. Elon will play against the field of North Dakota State, UConn and host NC State during its five-game slate. Following that tournament, the Phoenix travels to Virginia Tech for a midweek matchup against the Hokies on Feb. 21 before taking part in its final tournament of the regular season at Duke on Feb. 23-25. Elon will square off versus Michigan State, Villanova, Boston University and Duke.
 
Elon returns to Raleigh for a single-game contest versus NC State on Feb. 27 before playing UNCG in a three-game series on March 1-3 to kick off the new month. The Phoenix begins a five-game homestand with a rematch versus Duke on March 5 before opening CAA play versus fellow Piedmont Triad rival North Carolina A&T on March 8-10. Elon closes out its homestand with a contest against North Carolina on March 12.
 
The maroon and gold hits the road to UNCW on March 15-17 for its second CAA series before returning to Hunt Softball Park for games against NC Central (March 19) and versus league-newcomer Campbell for a three-game tilt on March 22-24.
 
The Phoenix concludes its non-conference schedule at East Carolina on March 26 before traveling to College of Charleston on March 29-31 to close out the month.
 
A three-game tilt versus two-time defending regular-season league champion Delaware on April 4-7 is next on the docket for the Phoenix. Elon then travels to Maryland for a road series at Towson on April 12-14.
 
Hampton makes its first trip to Hunt Softball Park as a CAA opponent on April 19-21 before the Phoenix travels to Stony Brook for its final CAA road series on April 26-28. Elon closes out the regular season at home against Drexel on May 2-4.
 
The 2024 CAA Tournament will take place on May 8-11 with Delaware being the host of the tournament.
