CLEMSON, S.C. – The Elon University women's tennis team had its three-match winning streak snapped on Saturday, as the Phoenix lost 6-1 at Clemson.

With the loss, Elon is now 3-2 on the season with both losses coming against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. Clemson improved to 7-1 with the victory.
THE RUNDOWN
- The Tigers won Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to clinch the doubles point.
- Sibel Tanik won the first set against Clemson's Eleni Louka 6-0 on Court 1. Louka took the second set to force a match tiebreak, which Tanik won 12-10. The senior is now 4-1 on the season in singles.
- After dropping the opening set on Court 3 against Clemson's Samantha Buyckx, Lizette Reding battled back to win a back-and-forth second set tiebreak. However, Reding fell short in the match tiebreak, snapping her three-match singles winning streak.
- Clemson won the other four singles matches in the Nos. 2, 4, 5 and 6 positions.
UP NEXT
The Phoenix plays another match tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. against Gardner-Webb. The contest will be played at Clemson's Duckworth Family Tennis Center.
