THE RUNDOWN
  • The Phoenix won a competitive doubles point to go ahead 1-0.
  • The freshman tandem of Oskar Antinheimo and Veljko Krstic won 6-4 on Court 2 for Elon's first victory of the day. It was their first win as a duo this season.
  • After the Cougars won at No. 3 doubles, Daniel Martin and Nicholas Campbell clinched the point for the Phoenix with a 6-4 win at the No. 1 spot. The pair is 2-0 at No. 1 this season.
  • Krstic kept his momentum going in singles, as he posted a 6-4, 6-1 win on Court 3 against Charleston's Robby Krick. The freshman is now 8-3 on the season at No. 3 singles and is on a three-match winning streak.
  • Freshman Ahmed Hosni put Elon ahead 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-3 win against Noah Borges at No. 4 singles. This was Hosni's first singles win in a road match since Jan. 27 against Rice, snapping a four-match slide.
  • Martin secured the winning point with a 7-5, 6-1 result over Mattia Bernardi on Court 1. The junior is the first Elon player to reach 10 singles wins this season and has a team-best 10-3 record.
  • Moments after Martin's victory, Campbell completed a 6-4, 7-5 win over Zac Larke on Court 2. The senior has won four consecutive singles matches and is 9-4 on the season.
  • After dropping the second set at the No. 6 spot, Ben Zipay rallied in the third to earn a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 win against Jordyn Larke. The win was Zipay's first of the season in a final set and improved his singles record to 6-1 on the season.
  • Antinheimo also dropped the first set of his match on Court 5 against Johnny Wang but fought back to win in a match tiebreak, completing the sweep for Elon.
  • This was Elon's first road win since defeating Campbell on Feb. 7, as the Phoenix had lost its previous three road decisions.
  • This was Elon's fifth win of the season by a 7-0 score. The Phoenix won seven matches by that score in the last two seasons combined.
  • The Phoenix has now won the doubles point in three straight matches, which ties its longest streak of the season.
