GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Elon University women's tennis team's winning streak is now at eight matches after a 4-0 victory against Richmond on Sunday at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center.

The match was moved indoors to Greensboro after early afternoon rain in Elon. With the victory, the Phoenix is now 13-3 on the season while Richmond falls to 4-12 with the defeat.
THE RUNDOWN
- Elon won doubles for the eighth consecutive match, extending its longest streak of the season.
- Julie Ball and Madison Cordisco put the Phoenix on the board in doubles with a 6-3 triumph on Court 2. The duo is now 5-2 together on the season.
- For the second straight match, Miray Konar and Helen Sarikulaya, the reigning Colonial Athletic Association Doubles Team of the Week, clinched doubles for Elon with a 6-3 in the No. 3 spot. The pair is on a four-match winning streak and is 7-2 on the season.
- Sibel Tanik and Lizette Reding were up 5-4 and at 30-30 in the 10th game when their match was abandoned on Court 1.
- After dropping the first set of her singles match on Court 1, Tanik battled back to win 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 against Richmond's Leonor Oliveira to give Elon a 2-0 lead. The win was Tanik's fourth straight and her second consecutive victory in a final set. The senior is 3-0 on the season in full third sets.
- Sarikulaya made it 3-0 for Elon with a 6-3, 6-4 victory in the No. 4 spot against Richmond's Elizabeth Novak. It was the freshman's first singles win in the last four matches and her ninth of the season.
- Cordisco also came from behind to clinch the match for the Phoenix, as the freshman delivered a 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 result at No. 2 singles. It was Cordisco's first career win in a final set and improved her record to 4-4 on the season.
- Olivia Archer and Ball led in their matches when they were abandoned after Cordisco's clinching point. Their matches started after Elon's wins on Courts 1 and 4 as only four courts were available.
- Elon is now 62-21 on the season in completed singles matches, good enough for a 75% winning percentage.
- The win was Elon's second this season at Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center and improved the team's home record to 9-0 on the season.
