THE RUNDOWN
  • For the first time in its last nine matches, the Phoenix did not win the doubles point.
  • Julie Ball and Madison Cordisco won their match 6-3 on Court 2 to start doubles. The duo has now won five of its last six completed contests.
  • After the Blue Hens won on Court 3, Delaware's No. 1 pair of Adel Abidullina and Eliza Askarova defeated Sibel Tanik and Lizette Reding 6-2 to clinch doubles. Abidullina and Askarova are the No. 7 ranked team in the ITA's Doubles Rankings. The result snapped Tanik and Reding's six-match winning streak at No. 1 doubles.
  • Julie Ball finished first for the Phoenix for the sixth time this season, as the senior won 6-1, 6-1 against Delaware's Juleta Honrubia on Court 5 to tie the score at 1-1. With the result, Ball became the third Elon player to reach double-digit singles wins on the season. Her 10 victories are the third most on the team.
  • Delaware won the next two completed singles matches to take a 3-1 lead.
  • Olivia Archer came from a set down against Isabella Montana on Court 6 to earn her 68th career singles win, tying her with Frida Jansaker (2011-14) for the most victories in Elon's Division I history. The win was Archer's 10th in a row and brought her record to 13-2 on the season. It made the score 3-2 in favor of the Blue Hens.
  • Reding won the first set of her singles match in the No. 3 spot and led 5-4 in the second before Delaware's Eliza Askarova won nine of the last 11 games to complete a comeback victory and clinch the match for the Blue Hens.
  • Helen Sarikulaya won the first set of her match on Court 4 against Maryia Hrynashka but lost a back-and-forth tiebreak that saw both players save multiple set points, 13-11. The match went unfinished after six completed games in the final set.
  • The loss was Elon's first of the season at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
  • This was the first time the Phoenix has lost Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles since its opening match of the season against North Carolina.
