ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women's tennis team closed out its regular season with a 5-2 Senior Day victory against North Carolina Central on Wednesday at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

Olivia has been an incredible asset to our team for the past 5 years and is a tenacious competitor who has a wonderful team-first mentality."
With the win, Elon finishes the regular season with a 15-6 record. The Eagles are now 10-9 with one match remaining in their season.
"We were really excited to honor our three seniors," Anderson said. "The team came out with a lot of good energy and played really well. They played a lot for them and we came out with a good win."
THE RUNDOWN
- At No. 1 doubles, Sibel Tanik and Lizette Reding snapped their three-match losing streak with a 6-1 victory. They became the first Elon doubles team to reach double-digit wins on the season.
- Playing their first match together this season, Julie Ball and Helen Sarikulaya clinched doubles for the Phoenix with a 6-2 win on Court 2. Sarikulaya finishes the regular season with a team-high 12 victories in doubles.
- Olivia Archer won her 13th straight singles match to close out the regular season with a 6-2, 6-3 result on Court 4 against North Carolina Central's Jade Houston. Archer's last loss came on Feb. 11 against Clemson, and she has lost just three sets in completed matches during the winning streak. She finishes the regular season with a team-best 16 singles victories.
- Shortly after Archer's win, Miray Konar made it 3-0 for the Phoenix with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 5 spot against Lafi Joao. Konar finishes the regular season with a perfect 8-0 mark in singles. After winning her first two matches of the season in final sets, Konar did not drop more than three games in any of her final 12 frames in completed matches.
- Sarikulaya secured the winning point for Elon with a 6-1, 6-3 win against Candice Bernier at the No. 3 position. She finishes the regular season with a 5-0 record playing No. 3 singles.
- The Eagles won a pair of singles matches on Courts 1 and 2 to make the score 4-2.
- Senior Shauna Galvin picked up her second singles victory of the season on Court 6 with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 win against Isabelle Exsted. Galvin finishes the regular season with a 4-0 ledger across doubles and singles.
- This was the fifth time this season Elon swept Nos. 3-6 singles.
- Elon finishes the regular season with a 74-35 record in completed singles matches and a 34-19 mark in completed doubles contests.
- Five Phoenix players notched double-digit wins in both singles this season – Archer, Ball, Sarikulaya, Reding and Sibel Tanik.
- Another five players finished the regular season with double-digit victories in doubles – Ball, Madison Cordisco, Sarikulaya, Reding and Tanik.
UP NEXT
Elon will compete at the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament on April 20-23 in Williamsburg, Va. William & Mary will host the event.
