ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women's basketball team and head coach Charlotte Smith announced the addition of Shelbie Davenport as the program's Director of Player Development and Recruiting Operations.
 
Prior to Elon, Davenport worked as an assistant coach at North Greenville University for one season. 
 
Prior to joining North Greenville's staff, Davenport played collegiately at Clemson University for one year where she served as her teams SAAC representative before finishing her eligibility at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga playing under hall of fame coach Jim Foster. While at UTC she won two Southern Conference Championships and attended the NCAA tournament back-to-back years.
 
Davenport obtained her bachelor's degree in Sports Administration as well as a master's in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
