Cary, N.C. – The Elon men's tennis team earned four wins at the ITA Carolina Regional at the Cary Tennis Park over the weekend. Jack Curtis picked up singles and doubles victories and Charles Pilet advanced to the qualifying singles round of 32.
 
In the qualifying singles draw, Pilet posted a straight set 7-5, 6-3 win over Aissa Benchakroun of South Carolina State to move to the round of 32. He was upended by Coastal Carolina's Curzio Manucci in his next match.
 
Oskar Antinheimo and Curtis each earned consolation round victories. Antinheimo beat Coastal Carolina's Emiliano Gonzalez 6-0, 6-4 while Curtis won a dramatic match over North Carolina's Dennis Perumov 7-5, 3-6, 10-8.
 
In doubles action, Curtis and Veljko Krstic secured an 8-6 win over Charlotte's Frederic Chlossman and Brett Glorida. In the round of 32, they came up just short against North Carolina's Logan Zapp and Anthony Wright 8-7 (4).
 
Elon will be home to host the Elon Invitational Oct. 25-27 as Head Coach Maciek Sykut makes his Jimmy Powell Tennis Center debut.
