Ava Hellner found the back of the net, but Elon could not find a second goal as the Elon Phoenix (8-1-1, 3-1) suffered their first loss of the season to the Towson Tigers (3-4-6, 1-2-1) Thursday night. Elon falls for the first time this season and in CAA play ending their unbeaten run at 11 consecutive games.

Ava Hellner picked up her second goal in as many CAA road games, having scored against Northeastern.
Katie Bisgrove made a career high in saves with eight against Towson on Thursday night in the loss.

How It Happened
- The first 15 minutes consisted of a number of fine saves by Katie Bisgrove and Elon defending corners well.
- After absorbing the pressure, Elon began to run on the break with Kelly Degnan putting in a few efforts. The best attempt came on the break when Degnan was one-on-one with the keeper, but a fine save kept the game 0-0.
- Towson would find the back of the net first in the 27th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Tigers began the second half with another goal to take a 2-0 lead in the 60th minute.
- Elon began to pile on the pressure with numerous shots and attempts at goal.
- The Phoenix found the back of the net when a cross from Grace Gelhaus found Ava Hellner to halve the deficit with just under 20 minutes to play.
- After a few good chances from Elon, the Tigers would see the game out to give Elon their first loss of the season.

- The Phoenix loses for the first time in CAA play this season and suffer their first loss in five conference matches dating back to last season.
- The 11-game unbeaten run was the longest run in CAA history for the Phoenix and the longest of the Neil Payne era.
