Elon, N.C. –
Jeff Yurk, a standout punter for the Elon Phoenix football team, has earned one of college football's most prestigious honors by being named to the 2024 Walter Camp Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-America Team.
Yurk led all of FCS by averaging 47.9 yards per punt in 2024, an average that ranked third across all levels of the NCAA. Twenty-six of his 60 punts traveled at least 50 yards, including a career-long 72-yarder. He had 19 punts inside the 20 and just four touchbacks.
The Walter Camp All-America Team is one of the oldest and most respected honors in college football, dating back to 1889. Selected by a distinguished panel of Division I FCS head coaches and sports information directors, the team recognizes the top players in the nation for their outstanding achievements on the field.
Yurk joins an elite group of Phoenix players to earn Walter Camp FCS All-America status as he becomes just the eighth player to earn the honor and the first since both kicker Skyler Davis and defensive back Marcus Hillman were named in 2022.
Yurk has now been named an All-American following the 2024 season by The Walter Camp Football Foundation, the FCS Athletic Directors Association (ADA), the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), FCS Football Central, the Associated Press, Stats Perform and Phil Steele (second team).
