ELON, N.C. – With Elon baseball's first series beginning Friday afternoon, all of Elon University's spring sports teams will officially be back in action this week. Phoenix fans have at least one game every day this week to tune into.
Each Monday, Rising Phoenix will preview the week ahead in Elon athletics. Here is a look at each Elon team competing this week.
Men's Golf
The men's golf team starts off the week, continuing in day two and three of the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate in Humacao, Puerto Rico. The Phoenix finished fifth in its spring-season debut in the Battle at Briar's Creek. Junior Juan Callejo Ropero led the Phoenix individually, finishing tied for 15th place with six birdies. Women's Golf
Down in West Palm Beach, Florida, the women's golf team continues play in the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate on Monday and Tuesday. Annabelle Ackroyd,

Annie Wu make up the Phoenix's first lineup of the spring season. After the completion of day one, Wu currently leads the Phoenix individually as she is tied for fifth place after shooting an even-par 72.
Men's Basketball
The Elon men's basketball team is preparing for a busy week, with two road and one home games in the span of only six days. The Phoenix travels to Towson, Maryland, on Monday night for a game against the Tigers, which will air on CBS Sports Network at 9 p.m. The team will then return home to face the Delaware Blue Hens in Schar Center on Thursday night at 7 p.m. Saturday night will be the third and final game of the week, as the Phoenix faces University of North Carolina Wilmington at 7 p.m. The Seahawks received votes in Monday's AP poll.
Lacrosse
The season opener at Old Dominion University found the Elon lacrosse team having massive success, as the Phoenix earned a 16-6 victory. Redshirt junior Kaitlyn Michaud got Elon started early and never looked back, scoring the first goal of the season and ending the game with five total. Sophomore
Anna Hackett also scored five goals with one assist. The Phoenix has two more road games ahead before its home opener at Rudd Field, facing Queens on Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Virginia Commonwealth University on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Softball
After a successful weekend hosting the Elon Softball Classic that saw the Phoenix go 3-1, highlighted by junior Allee Seering's walk-off home run against Evansville on Saturday, Elon softball travels to Raleigh to compete in its second tournament of the season, the Marucci Classic, hosted by North Carolina State University. The Phoenix's weekend begins with a doubleheader on Friday with game one at 9:30 a.m. against North Dakota State and game two at noon against University of Connecticut. Another doubleheader is slated for Saturday, as Elon will face North Dakota State in game one at 9:30 a.m. and NC State in game two at 12 p.m. The Phoenix will close its weekend with one game on Sunday at 12 p.m. against NC State. Kathy Bocock will reach her 300th victory in her illustrious career with the Phoenix.
Women's Tennis
A 7-0 sweep against Norfolk State highlighted last weekend for the Elon women's tennis team, as well as marked the first Phoenix victory of the season at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. Freshman Simone Bergeron made her spring-season debut, earning her first two career doubles victories. The Phoenix will gear up for two more home matches in the upcoming weekend, facing Gardner-Webb University at 2 p.m. on Friday and Shaw University at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Baseball
After a successful 2023 season with 33 victories and a second place finish in the conference standings, the Elon baseball team will be back at Latham Park for its three-game opening series against Navy. Over the offseason, the Phoenix welcomed eight transfer students and eight freshmen to the squad. Sophomore Justin Mitrovich earned preseason All-CAA honors and sophomore
Ryan Sprock was a preseason All-CAA honorable mention. The Phoenix will be back on the diamond Friday at 4 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
Women's Basketball
Coming off of a close loss against University of North Carolina Wilmington yesterday, the Elon women's basketball team will be taking a road trip to face Northeastern University on Friday at 7 p.m and Stony Brook University on Sunday at 1 p.m. Despite the loss against the Seahawks, redshirt sophomore Diamond Monroe shined, scoring a career-high 17 points and going 5-10 from three point distance on a day where Elon made 12 shots from beyond the arc.
Track & Field
The Phoenix will run in its last indoor meet of the regular season, the JDL Last Chance Invitational, on Saturday, before the indoor CAA championship race is held. At the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational last weekend, junior Jette Beerman placed second in the mile with a career-best 4:43.87. Sophomore
Sarah Petitjean placed sixth in the 1,000 with a time of 2:57.13. Her time also marked the sixth-fastest in school history.
Men's Tennis
Capping off the week, Elon men's tennis is vying for its first win of the spring season and making its home debut, starting a five-match homestand with the first match against South Carolina State on Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Phoenix will finish out the weekend with two matches, one Saturday against Campbell at 1 p.m. and Sunday against UNC Asheville at 2 p.m.
