The win was the 298th of Leonard's Elon career as he ended his final regular season match victorious. He announced last month that he will retire at the conclusion of Elon's season.

"It's a bittersweet feeling with this being my last home match at Elon," Leonard said. "It's been a great journey."

On a day where Elon celebrated its seniors, two of those honorees delivered singles victories to help Elon to a commanding win. Dylan Heap and Ben Zipay won their final singles appearances at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center at the Nos. 5 and 6 spots.

"I'm glad to see the seniors go out on a winning note," Leonard added.
