Elon, N.C.- The Elon Phoenix (14-22) fell in a midweek home contest to UNCG (20-15) Tuesday night. Following a midweek victory over the Spartans earlier this season, UNCG answered with a 15-1 win over the Phoenix.

Hudson Narke made the best start of his young Phoenix career going 3.2 innings, surrendering no runs, and striking out two.
Alex Duffey secured another multi-hit game finishing two-for-three at the plate and scoring a run.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams starting pitchers delivered solid first innings of work with both sides turning double plays to get out of first inning situations.
- Elon struck first in the second inning thanks to a Will Vergantino RBI single through the left side to put Elon up 1-0.
- Narke continued to deal into the fourth inning when Itai Spinoza picked him up to strikeout a Spartan batter and end the bases loaded threat.
- Carson Wehner got out of a fifth inning jam to keep the shutout alive before Tristan Corcoran made quick work of the Spartans in the sixth in part to a double play that Corcoran turned.
- Tate Ostrowski put together another clean inning with two strikeouts in the inning.
- UNCG finally got to Elon pitching with 11 runs in the eighth inning and four in the ninth to take the midweek contest, 15-1.

NOTES AND STATS
- Hudson Narke got the start for the Phoenix and had the finest of his young career. His 3.2 innings are a career high, and it was a fine bounce back effort.
- Tristan Corcoran made another appearance for the Phoenix and had a clean frame.
- Tate Ostrowski picked up two strikeouts in a clean seventh inning of work.
- Alex Duffey produced another multi-hit game, his fourth in a row. Duffey is batting 10-15 over his last four games.
- Will Vergantino picked up his 20th RBI of the season on an RBI single in the second inning.
- Elon leads the all-time series with UNCG, 41-29.
