ELON, N.C. – Sophomore
Mauri Murray of the Elon University softball team was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Mid-Atlantic Third Team All-Region as announced by the organization on Saturday, May 18.

It is the second postseason honor for the Marvin, N.C., native, a week after being named to the All-CAA First Team. It is also the first All-Region accolade for the Phoenix since 2019 and the 10
th overall for Elon under head coach
Kathy Bocock.

Murray led the Phoenix in several offensive categories on the year, slashing .361/.583/.436 while pacing the team in batting average and slugging percentage in her first season as a starter. She notched 52 hits in 144 at-bats while scoring 32 runs with eight homers and 33 RBI while accounting for six doubles and a triple.

She ranked second on the team in multi-hit games with 12 and ended the season on a 10-game hit streak, the longest for the Phoenix. Murray finished her 2024 campaign ranked in the top-10 of the CAA in several categories including second in batting average, third in slugging percentage, sixth in on-base percentage, second in OPS (1.019), sixth in RBI and third in home runs.

All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2024 NFCA Division I All-America squads. The 2024 NFCA Division I All-America teams, voted on by the NFCA DI All-American Committee, will be announced on Wednesday, May 29.
