SETTING THE STAGE

• Elon opens the 2024 regular season Friday night at Duke for a game televised on the ACC Network. Elon enters the season with high expectations and is just one spot outside of the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 media poll entering the contest.
• Friday night's game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. inside Wallace Wade Stadium. Duke is 7-0-1 all-time against Elon with seven of those meetings taking place at Duke. The Blue Devils won the most recent meeting by a score of 52-13 in 2014.
• Elon Head Coach Tony Trisciani begins his sixth season leading the Phoenix and is the longest tenured coach in the program since Al Seagraves was atop the program for eight seasons from 1996-03. Duke will debut a new head coach in Manny Diaz, who led Miami (Fla.) from 2019-21.
• Elon is opening a season on the road against a Power Four opponent for the third consecutive season. The Phoenix lost at Wake Forest in 2023, 37-17, and at Vanderbilt in 2022, 42-31. Elon outscored both opponents in the second half by a combined score of 38-27.
• Saturday's game will be broadcast nationally on the ACC Network with Clay Matvick, Steve Addazio and Justin Walters on the call.
