Irving, Texas – Elon junior defensive back
Caleb Curtain has been named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, college football's premier scholar-athlete award. The Campbell Trophy recognizes an individual for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership. Curtain is one of 41 FCS players named a semifinalist.
Along with being an All-American defensive back on the field, Curtain makes an impact off the field. He has been integral in numerous presentations through Omega Psi Phi Fraternity on mental health awareness, safe driving and safe sex practices. The organization also organized a clothing drive to donate gently used clothes to the local Salvation Army.
On the field, Curtain was an AFCA, Associated Press and FCS Stats Perform All-American, leading Elon in tackles and interceptions in 2023. He was the team MVP and earned the Basnight Award, given to the top male athlete at Elon.
In 2024, Curtain had an interception in the season-opener against Duke and leads the team in tackles and passes defended through the first four games of the season.
Curtain will be back on the field Saturday as Elon hosts Richmond at 2:00 p.m. for Family Weekend.
